How do you calculate shipping costs?
Weight, size, destination and the shipping line set the base rate. Carriers add fuel and remote-area surcharges, and the destination country adds duties and taxes.
What is dimensional weight and why does it matter?
The weight a parcel is charged for, based on the space it takes up. Carriers bill the larger of the two numbers, so a light bulky box can cost more than a heavy compact one.
Is the calculator result my final shipping price?
No. It is a planning estimate from the route, weight and size you enter. A quote confirms the price with the surcharges that apply.
Are duties and taxes included in the estimate?
No. Import charges are set by the destination country on the declared value, and they are quoted separately from postage.
Should I choose express or a postal parcel service?
Express suits urgent or high-value orders. Postal parcel services suit small, low-value orders. Transit times are estimates.
What items cannot be shipped internationally?
Explosives, compressed gas, flammable, corrosive and toxic goods, strong magnets, perishable and living goods, cash, drugs, tobacco and infringing products. Batteries follow separate rules.
