  There are general strike all over the world, together with the severe weather, please be prepared for further flight disruptions as well as delays in parcel processing and delivery.

  Brazil	Brazil--Postal workers end nationwide strike. On April 30, media sources reported that postal workers affiliated with the Interstate Federation of Postal Employees (Findect) have decided to end their nationwide strike. Postal workers are expected to return to work on May 9. Possible residual localized disruptions are expected until operations normalize. The strike began on 11 March 2018.
  Great Britain	Great Britain --Postal disruptions due to technical failure. Royal Mail Group informed on May 4 that a significant IT infrastructure failure is causing disruptions across all platforms and mail streams (Letters, EMS, Parcels). Official sources indicated that a fix was expected on May 4 evening, however no further information on normalization of services has been provided so far. Castle Donington, Great Britain --Highway near East Midlands Airport to be closed. Local media sources reported on May 8 that the M1 highway will be closed from May 11-13 in both directions between J23A and J24. The highway is the main access road to the East Midlands airport. The road closure will take place while a new bridge is installed. Diversions will be in place, however, reports indicated that slow traffic is likely while travelling to and from the airport.
  France	France --Air France pilots announce additional strikes. Air France pilot unions have called for additional strike days on May 3,4,7 and 8, according to local media sources on April 25. The strikes have been called due to a wage dispute, and involve pilots, ground staff, and flight attendants. Air France strike started on April 10 and additional actions were held on April 23-24. On April 28, media sources reported that air traffic controllers held a two-day strike at Marseille Provence Airport. Around 122 flights were cancelled on April 28-29. Disruptions were also reported at Caen Carpiquet Airport as well as Montpellier-Mediterranee Airport, although specific details were not provided. Flight operations resumed on April 29. Media sources reported on May 5 that air traffic controllers staged a 48-hour strike at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS). The strike finished at 04:30 local time on May 7. Delays and flight cancellations occurred during the industrial action. The cause of the protest has not been reported so far. Further residual disruption could be expected on May 7. Media sources are reporting on May 3 that air traffic controllers at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) are planning a two-day strike. The strike will start at an unspecified time on May 5 and will end at an unspecified time on May 7. The reason for the strike has not been specified. Air France is reporting on May 8 that around 85 percent of flights operated during the strike action by staff members on May 7. The same number of flights will be operational during the strike planned for May 8. Several strikes have been planned in previous months over an ongoing pay dispute.
  Belgium	Belgium --Brussels Airlines pilots threaten strike on May 11. On May 5, Brussels Airlines pilots announced a strike notice from May 11 for higher salaries. Reports indicate that the action may be cancelled as unions representative and airlines officials plan to meet on May 7. No specific information on the duration of the potential strike has been confirmed by the pilots.
  Sweden	Sweden --Postal services resumption On May 4, PostNord Sverige AB informed that postal services have resumed following previous disruptions caused by some of its electronic data interchange (EDI) transmissions. Disruptions started on April 26. Industry sources informed that missing events should be fully available by the evening of May 5.
  Spain	Jaen, Spain--Postal workers in Jaen threaten to strike. Local media in Spain reported on April 29 that postal service workers in Jaen have announced their intention to strike if their request for higher salaries and better working conditions remain unmet. No specific time frame of a potential strike has been provided so far.
  Iceland	Iceland --Postal service disrupted due to technical failure. On May 7, Iceland Post reported that it was experiencing IT issues and was unable to exchange any EDI messages in its operations. Postal disruptions are expected. Iceland Post informed on May 10 that postal services have resumed following the reparation of the IT system. Disruptions in postal services in Iceland started on May 7.
  Israel	Tel Aviv, Israel --Tel Aviv Airport shuts down cargo flights. On May 8, local sources indicated that an unplanned emergency drill at the Tel Aviv Airport in Israel between 03:00 and 13:00 local time on May 8 disrupted flights during that time period. Delays to air freight shipments going to or from the airport are likely to be expected until May 9.
  Japan	Tokyo, Japan--Disruptions likely during Tokyo summit. Media sources are reporting that disruptions to movement are likely due to the 7th Korea-Japan-China Summit in Tokyo on May 9. Localized disruptions are possible due to road closures and vehicle checks by the police across the city and at Haneda Airport (HND).
  Thailand	Thailand --Closures reported at Phuket airport until May 8. According to media sources on May 3, the runway at Phuket International Airport (HKT) has been closed for six hours daily since April 27 due to runway maintenance work until May 8. Expect flight delays and cancellations during this period.
  Thailand	Please be informed that Monday’s 14 May 2018 is National Holiday “Royal Ploughing day” and Customs will be close on that day.
  Australia	Australia--Flight disruptions reported at airports. Media sources are reporting that Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport are expecting flight disruptions on May 11, with about 20 flights being cancelled due to yet unspecified reasons.
