          Long lasting rainfall in the South West of Canada caused floods in large areas of the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. Please be prepared for possible traffic disruptions and delays in mail processing and delivery.
  
   
           Paraguay
  
   
           In the capital of Paraguay, Asunción, 70,000 people have been evacuated in the meantime due to floodings. 200,000 people had to be brought to safety all over Paraguay, the emergency service SEN said. The levels of the rivers Paraguay and Paraná have risen dramatically due to torrential rain in recent weeks. Also regions in neighbouring Argentina are affected by floods. The houses of 5,000 people in the provincial capital of Formosa are flooded. Please be prepared for delays in mail processing and delivery.

           The designated postal operator of the Philippines wishes to inform that postal operations have resumed. However, delays may still be expected in deliveries owing to the ongoing construction of roads and relocation of some residents.
  
   
          Chile
  
   
          A 5.7 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Chile, 88 kilometers west-northwestern of Iquique, 177 kilometers south-southwestern of Arica, 228 kilometers south-southwestern of Tacna (Peru), 248 kilometers north-northwestern of Tocopilla and 483 kilometers southwestern of La Paz (Bolivia). The epicenter fell at a depth of 19.3 kilometers, striking off the coast at 09:38 UTC on Thursday. Following the severe flooding, the situation in some parts of Paraguay turns out to be more and more dramatic. In Neembucu, located in the south near the border to Argentina, the level of the Paraguay River has reached 8 meters, cutting off the village Alberei from the outside world. So far, more than 150.000 people have been affected by the floods. In the capital, Asuncion, more than 50.000 people have already been evacuated.
