The Notification about
Stipulation about the CNUPS Lithium Battery Export

• As the IATA and FAA have made a stricter stipulation about the export of lithium battery, if you need to deliver battery or packages containing the battery , please kindly offer us the documents as follows,  the packages label and invoice should meet the following demands as well:
  1. MSDS
  2. UN38.3
  3. Guarantee (the guarantee of the lithium battery and lithium metal battery are different,please read the attachment)
  4. Hazzard label(it must be pasted with red square and colourfully stamped in every package ,please read the sample label in the attachment)
  5. Battery Import License or Customs Clearance certificate are required by Commodity Inspection and Testing Bureau
  6. Waybill and invoice should stipulate:
  Waybill or other documents should contain the following information claimed:
  • The pakcage / shipment contains lithium batteries.
  • The package must be handled with care and that a flammability hazard exists if the package is damaged.
  • Special procedures to be followed in the event the package is damaged, to include inspection and repacking if necessary.
  • A telephone number for additional information.
  7. Packing demands: confirm that the gross weight per package shouldn't outweigh 10kg
  8. Package requirements:
  Lithium battery:
  The core of battery's rating should not exceed 20wh
  The battery' rating should not exceed 100wh
  Lithium metal battery:
  The quantity of lithium contained in each core of battery should not exceed 1g
  The quantity of lithium contained in each  battery should not exceed 2g
  9. Stipulation on the additional handling information of the waybill
  If the lithium battery uses the air waybill, you should fill  these words in "Additional Handling Information" column:
  • Lithium Ion Batteries
  • Not Restricted
  • PI965
  If the lithium metal battery uses the air waybill, you should fill  these words in "Additional Handling Information" column:
  • Lithium Metal Batteries
  • Not Restricted
  • PI968
