  A bus drivers’ strike in Brazil has caused traffic chaos in four major cities. Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and São Paulo were affected. For several months people have been protesting against price increases, bad living conditions and expenditure on the Football World Cup. Further work stoppages have been announced for the next few weeks. Also subway drivers are likely to go on strike. The responsible trade union called for an unlimited strike as of June, 5. Please be prepared for disruptions in public life and possible delays in mail processing and delivery.
  
   
            Poland 
   
   
  Poland also was hit by severe weather yesterday. In the southwest of Poland numerous cellars, roads and fields were flooded after torrential rain. In Lower Silesia and in the Opole region the water level rose to one meter in the cellars. After severe weather caused floodings and mudslides in parts of Germany - particularly in the cities of Meissen and Dresden in Saxony - cleanup efforts are still in progress. Please be prepared for delays in mail processing and delivery in the affected areas.
