【IMPORTANT】Impact of new Brazilian customs procedures

• Dear All,
  Since early 2018, Brazil Customs has put much more attention on e-commerce imports, especially those origin China. This means that those parcels that Brazil Customs considered undervalued are stopped for several weeks for revaluation. Then, the new value given by Brazil Customs is normally higher than the original price paid by consignee. This is because somehow, Brazil Customs is charging a penalty for the undervalue and subsequent revaluation.
  Please attention: all international orders arriving in Brazil (all the items not matter the value) will be subject to the collection from the consignee of USD 3.5 (R$15,00).
  High value shipments (over USD 50): Correios do Brasil issues a customs declaration, where they reckon the duties and VAT to be applied and charges these USD 3.5 (R$15,00), as well, to consignees, together with VAT and import duties. Find below an example of this customs declaration.
