    Germany Hamburg, Germany --Weather conditions cause flight disruptions
    Unspecified weather conditions caused flight disruptions at Hamburg Airport (HAM) on May 14. Reports indicated that at least seven flights were canceled and an additional 15 flights were delayed over a three hour period. Operations returned to normality on May 14.
    Munich, Germany --Flight disruptions at Munich Airport
    On May 16 media sources reported that at least 23 flights were canceled and an additional 28 flights were delayed at Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC) due to a system failure that lasted for roughly eight hours. The issue has since been resolved and updated reports indicate that flight disruptions have largely subsided. Technical difficulties at Frankfurt Airport
    Multiple flight cancellations by Lufthansa at Frankfurt am Main Airport were reported on May 16. A technical difficulty with an I.T. system is understood to be the cause. 23 flights have been cancelled since May 16. There is no clear indication on when operations would return to normal.
    United States Northeastern, United States--Severe thunderstorms affecting northeast
    On May 16, weather sources are reporting that severe thunderstorms have been affecting the northeastern region of the United States since May 14. Over 30 flights have been cancelled in northeastern cities airports, including: Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, Washington D.C, Boston, Wilmington, Delaware, Atlantic City, and New Jersey. No specific information on when operations would normalize has been provided.
    On May 17, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is informing that storms in the Northeastern United States have resulted in facility closures and delivery delays owing to damage and loss of power. Severe thunderstorms have been affecting the northeastern region of the United States since May 14. No further details on when postal services could resume have been provided so far.
    On May 18, media sources are reporting that flight operations are returning to normal in the northeastern United States, following severe thunderstorms that had affected the region. Over 50 flights were cancelled in northeastern airports since May 14.
    Belgium Belgium -- Disruptions to flight operations reported and Additional pilot strike action in June Media sources are reporting that Brussels Airlines pilots are planning to go on strike on May 14 and 16 as part of a dispute over work conditions. The strike will reportedly result in about 400 flight cancellations.
    On May 14, Bpost informed that severe impact on the outbound postal performance could be expected due to the strike actions on May 14 and May 16 by the Brussels Airlines pilots. Carriers indicated that transit times can be longer than foreseen.
    On May 16, media sources are informing that at least 16 flights have been cancelled and two flights have been delayed at Brussels Airport (BRU) due to a strike by Brussels Airlines pilots. Pilots of Brussels Airlines are holding a 24-hour strike across Belgium. Reports suggest that up to 75 percent of the airlines' flights on May 16 will be cancelled.
    Media sources reported on May 17 that unions representing pilots for Brussels Airlines have threatened two more unspecified days of strikes in June, following a breakdown in talks with the management on May 16 over a dispute on working conditions. Earlier, pilots staged strike actions on May 14 and May 16 resulting in about 400 flight cancellations.
    France Lyon, France --Transport disrupted at Lyon Airport
    Air traffic controllers at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) held a strike from May 12 through May 13 protesting for higher salaries. Disruptions were reported to Spanish and French flights due to the strike. Air traffic controllers already staged a 48-hour strike at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) on May 5.
    According to media sources, a taxi strike disrupted movement to and from Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport on May 15. A demonstration took place along the main airport roads causing traffic and slow movement.
    Israel Tel-Aviv, Israel --Flight operations suspended
    Israeli media sources are reporting that all flight operations at Ben Gurion Airport have been temporarily suspended due to a fire in Elad, around 25 kilometers east of Tel Aviv city centre. It remains unclear when the airport will resume operations.
