Analysis for the Current Delay of HK Air Mail (HKBRAM/ HKBAM)

•  Dear customer,

  Recently much attention has paid on the strictly screening and delay of HK Air Mail (HKBRAM/HKBAM), some users even concern their packages send via SFC. Does the package send via SFC meet the same situation like other logistic company? Certainly not. As a responsible logistic service provider, we are willing to share the truth to all customers. Three dimensions caused this situation.

  Firstly, lower price is the leading cause.

  In April, Rebates Policy (From 1st, May to 30th, Sept) from HK POST was introduced, three post offices (AMC, CMC and Tsuen Wan Airmail Center) were assigned to receive packages only. Destination country of packages is restrict to Unite States of America, United Kingdom, Australia and France. Further more, rebate is also subject to the cargo volume. All users can enjoy this preferential policy unless he can reach the above requirements. Hence, in May, most customers were got a best price for HKBRAM/HKBAM from their assigned logistic company, later there is an increasing number of air mails rushed into HK POST.

  Secondly, different receiving rules made the delay?

  The receiving rules of the three assigned post office are as follows:
  1. Chek Lap Kok Post (AMC): Accepts register mail only, do not accept air mail without tracking number.
  2. Kowloon Bay central mail processing center (CMC): Accepts airmail with and without tracking number, do not accept EMS.
  3. Tsuen Wan Airmail Center: Accepts airmail without tracking number, do not accept register mail and EMS.

  However, every company will send airmails with and without tracking number, and airmail without tracking number are occupied a large proportion. In this connection, Kowloon Bay central mail processing center (CMC) is the best choice for most logistic company for saving time and cost. Unfortunately, they didn’t consider comprehensively for there is only one security inspection device in CMC, there is no doubt that the workload has far exceed its manual and device ability. The only result is delay.

  Thirdly, strong predictive ability of SFC made us avoid this delay?

  We SFC has a strong predictive ability beforehand, we estimated that CMC might be overwhelmed and make a special application towards HK POST in advance for keep sending both surface mail and register mail in AMC. Because of the great contribution in promoting HK POST service in China mainland since 2005 SFC has made, both HK POST and AMC have agree this application.
  Currently, there is no change in the inspecting scale of AMC since September last year. Every bag with bulk mails will through X-Ray screening smoothly, but dangerous articles is prohibited like before, therefore no backlog occurs. Please rest assure to use SFC HKBAM/HKBRAM service. The delivery time can be surely guarantee.
